OIL AS A WEAPON
By Randy Loudenslager
Saddam Hussein has urged his fellow Arab nations to apply "economic measures" against Israel in order to pressure her withdrawal from Palestinian cities. The ruling Baath party of Iraq issued a statement to other oil producing Arab nations to use oil as a weapon against Israel. "If oil is not used today as a weapon in the battle to enhance the honor and dignity of our [Arab] nation and our religion and to liberate our land and holy places against Zionism and America, it will be a curse." The plan entailed cutting off oil to the West in order to force it to apply pressure on Israel.
It is not clear yet whether a sudden jump in oil prices can be attributed to Iraq's statement, Israel's military incursions into the West Bank or both. One thing is for sure, oil prices have reached their highest point in 6 months and this is without OPEC's meeting to lower production.
Meanwhile Israel's government is attempting to put forth a face of unity in regards to the war on terrorism. The veil is thin and fractures are apparent with Foreign Minister Shimon Peres leading continuing attacks in cabinet meetings against Ariel Sharon. What is more revealing is the glimpse Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer gave into what Israel is planning after their military security incursions against the Palestinian terror infrastructure are over. In a report to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Eliezer said, "the IDF's operation will succeed if, when it ends, it will be possible to continue with the political track. The political future is the Saudi initiative."
Every force available is being aligned against Israel in the sole effort by Satan to destroy the covenant between Israel and God. Satan desires the throne on Mount Zion that belongs to Jesus Christ, but Michael, the Chief Prince of Israel, has prevented him thus far. As I have written in the recent past, the oil producing nations will form the last world empire. The U.S. has always followed a foreign policy that caters to American interests. Up until now Israel has been an important part of America's interests. Even though the U.S. is the third largest oil producer in the world her production cannot feed her steadily growing appetite as the world's largest oil consumer. America is not only leaving Israel exposed but is promoting the ravishing of Israel in the name of peace. America's need for oil results in America's need to make deals or to conquer any oil producer that threatens her oil flow, such as Saddam Hussein.
One of Israel's highest ranking cabinet ministers has spelled out Israel's future by recognizing the Saudi plan as the direction Israel must take. She will break God's covenant. Don't be perplexed by the seemingly complex nature of the events taking place. Just fix your eyes on Jerusalem and start praying for the peace that will come to her when Jesus Christ rules from Mount Zion!
