Arafat's Power Crumbling
By Randy Loudenslager
Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is in Washington this week to apprise President Bush on the current status of the crisis in his nation and to ask Bush to cut diplomatic ties with Palestinian Authority Chairman Yassar Arafat. Israel is ready to make her move of checkmate in this deadly game between Israel and the Palestinians and only needs final action and backing from Washington.
Arafat is displaying the actions of a man in a desperate situation. He has sent a letter to President Bush admitting responsibility for the Karine-A arms shipment incident. He denies knowledge of the ship, but as leader of the Palestinian people he acknowledges his need to be responsible. His authority crumbling, Arafat seems unable to control the terror groups in his constituency or even the more militant members of the Fatah, the military wing of his own Palestine Liberation Organization. In the past Arafat chose not to control these extreme elements and even condoned their actions publicly. Now with Israel containing him militarily and America about to isolate him diplomatically, the telltale signs of new Palestinian leaders emerging are everywhere.
A word . . .
Israel is about to make an alliance with death. Arafat will be
replaced by a man who will use Israel's eagerness for peace against
her. Israel will forsake the covenant God Almighty has given her.
She will trade some of her inheritance to the Palestinians in
exchange for peace. Her pact with death will not save her!
