Of Oil

Oil production analysts predict 2002 the year that Russia assumes the role of the largest oil producer on earth. By agreeing with OPEC to cut oil production in order to boost demand and prices, Russia, not an OPEC member, has repeatedly broken her promises. Russia has repeatedly increased production, a move that has continually undercut OPEC's oil prices and tremendously increased Russia's market share. OPEC, led by the present oil production king Saudi Arabia, has attempted to control the world's oil production and pricing. Russia is not as motivated by money as she is by power. Russia correctly understands that to be able to control the prices and production of oil in this oil thirsty world would make her king of the mountain, the only game Russia plays.
Shackled by their own greed, OPEC won't expose Russia's repeatedly broken promises to cooperate in production cuts for fear that the world's markets would interpret this as OPEC's inability to control the market. Seeing this, the market would simply turn to where the oil is the cheapest. Russia would be only too happy to meet the demand for cheap oil. This type of scenario is how Russia will begin to dominate world oil production. The Arabs will cave in to Russian market control in order to not have their oil empires crumble, in effect making them vassal states of Russia. Some, like Iraq and Iran, already are under Moscow's sway. But states such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, backbone members of OPEC, will put up a fight. Russia, not motivated by greed, is a most dangerous adversary. She has foreseen the battle and is willing to glut the market with cheap oil to break OPEC's back!
Look at the list of nations (Ezekiel 38) that will attack Israel in the last days and you will see a list of oil producing nations with Russia in the lead. Neither does it bode well for Israel that most of these nations are Islamic and desire her eradication! He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
